Training Series: The Sexual Addiction Epidemic

Health Management Systems of America (HMSA) continues its complimentary training series with the session The Sexual Addiction Epidemic, set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at HMSA offices, 601 Washington Blvd., in Detroit. The seminar is hosted by Douglas W. Carpenter, PsyD, LP, who examines the concept of sexual addiction, the controversial nature of this disorder as well as the associated clinical research.

Participants will gain an understanding of the addiction cycle including its individual components and learn the reason the cycle perpetuates. Dr. Carpenter shows how sexual addiction can be both acute and chronic, a concept, he believes, when properly understood is key in determining treatment options.

The seminar is free to the general public. Two continuing education credits will be available from the National Association of Social Workers for a $40 fee.

You may sign up for our mailing list or go to the HMSA Training Institute here
