Health Professional Recovery Program (HPRP) |
Health Professional Recovery Program (HPRP) is a voluntary, confidential, non disciplinary program available to any health care professional that is actively licensed, registered or certified in their state, under the Public Health Code. The Health Professional Recovery Program (HPRP) program is designed to encourage health professionals to seek treatment for substance use and/or mental health disorders before their impairment harms a patient or damages their careers through disciplinary action.
The underlying philosophy of the program is to protect the public while encouraging and supporting recovery from the treatable diseases of substance abuse disorder and/or mental/emotional disorders.
Participation in the HPRP guarantees that the identity and confidentiality of the licensee who is in compliance will be protected even from requests for disclosure by subpoena or under the Freedom of Information Act.
HPRP is financially supported by licensing fees and endorsed by the health care professional associations and by the State’s licensing boards.
