HMSA provides Substance Abuse Professional Services to large and small organizations nationwide. When an employer identifies an employee with substance abuse issues, we can support the organization with:

• Initial evaluations and treatment recommendations
• Substance abuse treatment and counseling
• Coordination of lab work
• Follow-up monitoring and evaluation

Our Substance Abuse Professionals provide specialized services to employees who perform safety-sensitive functions and are required by the U.S. Department of Transportation to be tested for drugs and alcohol. All HMSA Substance Abuse Professionals abide by and are knowledgeable of all current rules that relate to the DOT regulation 49CFR Part 40.

HMSA’s Substance Abuse Professionals are involved in monitoring compliance requirements, but they also serve as motivators to the employee — offering encouragement and helping them recognize their progress.
